Anyone else in the Northern Hemisphere seriously craving soup right now, because I sure am?! We’ve had ice, snow, and then wind chill warnings in Kansas City this week. So all I want is a blanket, my boyfriend, and a bowl of soup. Well and the Chiefs, because they’re still in the Playoffs, which makes the cold a bit more bearable. But I don’t want just any soup, so I’ve scoured my blog and the internet to create the ultimate comfort soups list.
Is there anything better when it’s cold than enjoying a bowl of something hot with a blanket and Netflix (or football)? It’s my idea of heaven this time of year, so this list of ultimate comfort soups had to happen.
I have TONS of goodness in store for you, because I’ve found healthy soups, indulgent ones, and everything in between. This is an ultimate list of comfort soup recipes, so you’ll find it impossible not to want to make something!
Lately I’m whipping up a minestrone I share below, and then also my take on the ramen I share too. And I foresee some spinach artichoke soup and more chili (also listed below) in my very near future. You’ll find lots of different takes on chicken noodle soup as well, because what defines comfort soups more than that?
So let’s dig into our ultimate comfort soups list, shall we?!
I’ve organized the comfort soups into 7 categories below, so click on each one to go to that section. And I’ve tried to note any dairy free and/or gluten free recipes, so you can easily locate them.
- Beef & Pork– You get some comfort food-y flavors with beef and pork, so you’ll fin lots of comfort soups here.
- Chicken– And all things chicken are in this category, because it’s easy and goes with so many flavors and cuisines.
- Veggie-Filled– I don’t always need meat at a meal, so I love these soups that are veggie focused and crazy good!
- Beans & Lentils – Another healthy category is this one where you’ll be getting plenty of fiber and flavor!
- Decadent Soups– A list of comfort soups isn’t complete with some slightly naughty, cheese-filled recipes now is it?!
- Pasta Love– Because I love pasta and that’s enough to deserve its own category.
- Asian-Inspired– There are so many amazing Asian flavor profiles and they lend themselves to soup so well.
