If you are anything like me, then your Netflix streaming queue is big…strike that, Large…actually it’s HUGE! I add so many TV shows, movies and documentaries to it regularly that it’s nothing short of overwhelming.
I’ve been known to scroll through my queue for 15-30 minutes getting completely overwhelmed by the selection, and then when that happens I always wind up on the same movie…TiMER.
Maybe you’ve seen it or maybe this movie title is totally new to you. It really doesn’t matter. All you need to know is that you must add it to your streaming queue right away. Because when in doubt…you can just choose TiMER.
TiMER stars Emma Caulfield (yes, that’s Anya to you fellow Buffy fans) as a dentist working in the not so distant future. It’s a future when a new product called TiMER is all the rage. The whole idea is to answer the question of if there is such a thing as a soul mate. It’s in essence taking the guesswork out of love. TiMER is a device you get implanted on your wrist and it counts down to when you will meet your soul mate. It might be tomorrow, decades from now, or there is no countdown (if your soul mate doesn’t have a TiMER device yet).
Intrigued yet? Good…here’s the trailer:
I just find the concept so entertaining and it makes for quite the quirky, romantic comedy. (I do love some quirkiness…after all I’m nothing if not quirky.) And it also makes you think (not too much)…thinking is good sometimes. I mean do we really want to know when we’re going to me “the one” or do you want to go along for the ride and figure it out yourself spontaneously and enjoy the moment? And if you do have a TiMER, which is better: to know what day you’ll meet the one or have no idea at all because your other half hasn’t gotten their TiMER yet?
So many questions, and don’t worry, I will NOT be spoiling anything for you. Every so often (okay every month or so), I get the urge to watch this movie, and I couldn’t continue on without sharing just how awesome it is. Now the question is…would YOU get a TiMER if you could? Me…I’m slightly on the fence but yeah, perhaps I would. Comment below…I’m seriously curious what you would do.
