(This Paloma Cocktail is inspired by a Bon Appetit recipe, so check that out here.)
Step by Step Instructions:
In no time you’ll be sipping on a delicious Paloma Cocktail, so here’s what you’ll need: Kosher Salt, Tequila (100% agave means it’s gluten free), Agave Syrup, Grapefruit Sparkling Water, 1 Lime, and 1 Grapefruit.
Start off the Paloma Cocktail by zesting half of a grapefruit, and then set the zest to the side.
Then zest half of a lime.
This zest is about to amp up the garnish for our Paloma Cocktail, so have it ready!
Then juice half of a grapefruit until you have about 1/4 cup of juice.
Now cut the other half of the grapefruit in half and slice a wedge for garnish.
Rub the rim of your cocktail glass with a little of the grapefruit wedge, and you can run it along the entire rim or just half if you prefer less salt.
Now on a plate add 1-2 tablespoons of kosher salt, plus a nice pinch of both of the zests.
Use your fingers to mix the zest into the salt.
Then dip the glass rim into the salt and cover it nicely.
Now it’s time to mix up our Paloma Cocktail, so add the grapefruit juice to the glass along with the juice of half a lime and 1 teaspoon of agave syrup. Then give the juice a stir.
Next measure 1/4 cup of tequila, and then add it to the glass and stir. One note is that I like using a chopstick to stir, because it won’t make a mess and it’s easy to clean.
Now add 4-5 ice cubes to your glass.
Top off the Paloma Cocktail with the grapefruit sparkling water along with the grapefruit wedge, and then enjoy! This Paloma Cocktail is refreshing, light, and perfect for your favorite Mexican meal or to kick off the night!
