Step by Step Instructions:
To make this flavorful, Asian noodle dish, the following ingredients are needed: Noodles of your choice (Spaghetti, Angel Hair, etc.), Sugar, Hot Chili Oil (or Mongolian Fire Oil in my case), Minced Garlic, Toasted Sesame Oil, Soy Sauce, Canola Oil, Rice Vinegar, and Green Onions.
Begin by cooking the pasta as directed on the package. Then I measured out 1/4 cup of soy sauce.
To the soy sauce I added 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
Then I added 4 minced garlic cloves. You can totally use fresh garlic, I just am enjoying the pre-minced garlic as a great time saver.
I then added 2 tablespoons of seasoned rice vinegar (you can get this at most super-markets) to the bowl.
Then to give a nice flavor to the sauce, 3 tablespoons of sesame oil (pure or toasted should be fine) were added.
Now it’s time for the hot chili oil (or Mongolian Fire Oil works too), so I added 1/2 teaspoon. You can always make it spicier when you taste the sauce, but remember to start out with a little just be safe.
I then added 4 tablespoons of canola oil to help increase the amount of sauce without changing the flavors.
It’s hard to tell in this photo, but I added about 2 tablespoons of hot water (I just heated some water in my electric kettle) to thin out the sauce a bit.
Then you just need to whisk the sauce so all of the flavors come together.
By now my pasta had cooked and I had drained it. Then the sauce gets added to the pasta…
…and be sure to stir the pasta so that each strand gets fully coated. I had the perfect amount of sauce so the pasta wasn’t dry or anything…yum!
Then I quickly washed and chopped 4 green onions.
I added a large amount of the green onions to the noodles.
Then it’s time to serve up the noodles. I would say these easily make 4 big servings if this was all you were eating or 6-8 servings if you’re eating the noodles as a side. I topped the noodles with more green onions and ate them up. Next time I could add a bit more hot chili oil if I wanted them to have a real kick, but they were so delicious that I can’t wait to eat the rest of the leftovers. Hope you enjoy!!
