Momentum in general is super important to achieving any goals you have. Fact. But the momentum I’ll be talking about in today’s post isn’t the word “momentum” that you’re thinking of. This particular post is about the Momentum Dashboard, which can certainly help you gain momentum in your life and achieve your desires and goals more consistently.
My sister told me about the Momentum dashboard a month or so ago, so I installed it in my Chrome browser. Basically any time you open a new tab, the dashboard will appear if you don’t type in anything in the search bar. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered all that I could actually do within this browser tab. It was a total game changer!
Why the Momentum Dashboard is Your Hub for Productivity:
You might wonder how a tab in your browser can keep you productive throughout the day…
- Easy Access – I work on a computer all day every day, so picking up a written out to-do list means I have to have it close by all the time, which doesn’t always happen with a laptop lifestyle. Having this pop up in a new Chrome tab makes it easy to refer to and hard to miss.
- Can’t be Ignored – Literally I don’t want to ignore the tab. Momentum does this great thing where the background is a gorgeous picture, and it changes daily. You want to keep looking at it, thus making you more productive as your action items stare at you each time.
- To Do List – This one is a BIG one. In the lower right corner, you can start a to do list with all of the day’s tasks you need to complete. For those of us who get satisfaction crossing things off of lists, the best part is that you can check the box when it’s complete and it crosses it off for you. Love it when I see how productive I am being!
- A Tour About the Dashboard
- Top Left
- LINKS – A place to save your favorite links. It’d be a great place to save links to the things related to your to-do’s. Maybe your work inbox, website or blog that you’re working on, a site you’re using for reference, your favorite design sites, etc.
- SEARCH – Click next to the magnifying glass and type in the search bar, and Momentum pulls up a quick Google search right on the dashboard!

- SETTINGS – The cog icon represents your settings where you can update account info, log out, see a picture of yourself so you remember what you look like (just kidding on that last one) 😉
- LOCATION – I love this part! It will tell you the location of the background image. So often I think a picture is stunning but have no clue where it’s taken. So my curiosity is satisfied with this area!

- CLOCK – Tells you the time … go figure!
- YOUR VERY OWN GREETING! – It feels so personal that way!
- MAIN FOCUS FOR TODAY – Always wanting you to keep on task, it asks you what today’s main focus is and let’s you type the task in the space. AND when that task is done, just check it off!
- QUOTES – I love a good inspirational quote, and Momentum puts a quote at the bottom of the dashboard to inspire and motivate you.
- Top Right
- TEMPERATURE – You can get the forecast for your local area. I love this feature, because I’m always wanting to know what the temp is to know how to dress or feel good about my working from home status.

- TO DO LIST – Start typing all of the tasks, big and small, that you want to accomplish for the day (or the week). As you complete them, they’ll get crossed off, and your # of completed to-do’s will show up at the top right for you. Letting you know how productive you are!

So the next time you find yourself off task, look no further than the Momentum Dashboard!
It’s really easy to install the Momentum Dashboard too. Simply launch a tab in your Chrome browser and go here then click on the button that says “Add Momentum to Chrome” and it will install the dashboard. Then each time you open a new tab, the dashboard will be available when you need it. And look, it already knows you’re classy!! Love that 🙂
If you’re on your computer all of the time like I am, and you use the Momentum Dashboard wisely, it will quickly become a great way for you to have instant access to your to-do lists and be more productive than ever!
Stay inspired & check off that to do list!
