In case you can’t tell – I kinda like Brussels sprouts…a lot. As I was searching for inspiration for the blog this week it took about two seconds for me zero in on this recipe from the site Dash of East. We’re talking Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Honey Sriracha Drizzle. And let me tell ya, this fabulous drizzle goes a LONG way!
One thing I love about this dish is that I had everything on hand sans the Brussels sprouts. And it was a super easy dish to throw together. The longest part was really cleaning the sprouts and cutting them in half. But you only need a pound of them so it doesn’t really require that much effort.
You start the sprouts off in a saucepan on the stove top for a minute or so and then finish them off in the oven. This is different from how I’ve usually roasted them, but I loved the use of coconut oil, which I hadn’t cooked with in this way before. I’m a huge fan of coconut oil, especially on popcorn…but I digress…back to the recipe!
Then there was the drizzle. It is so darned simple but God it’s good! While the sprouts roasted the sauce is mixed up. It’s honey, Sriracha Chili Sauce, and soy sauce. That’s it, folks! It was sweet and spicy but the soy sauce really brought the flavors together. Now a bit of a warning…I wanted more. Next time I’m doubling this – the Brussels sprouts, the drizzle…everything but my appetite.
You can serve this as side dish or if you want to be cool like me, make a meal of it. Just serve it with some rice, which I enjoyed with a little drizzle over it. Damn this was insanely good! Let’s all just click here now for the recipe and step by step instructions.
