Ah, Nutella…Part 2

My jar of nutella has been glaring at me from my pantry the past 2 weeks. Taunting me as if I was a bad person for not having emptied it yet. So I broke down and decided that I’d devote this week to another nutella recipe…twist my arm, right?! I already had the  perfect recipe I wanted to try, it was just a matter of making a trip to the grocery store to get what I needed.

Yesterday, I headed to the store and purchased the few ingredients I didn’t have on hand and started baking. Baking is one of my favorite stress relievers, so it was exactly what I needed on a relaxing Saturday afternoon. The recipe that I had in mind was another fabulous contribution from Tasty Kitchen. I hope a few of you have headed over to this site, and if you haven’t and love to cook, then you’ll soon be a fan just like me.

Banana Nutella Muffins…need I say more? I thought it only fair to use another classic pairing for chocolate. My first nutella treat combined peanut butter and nutella, and this time around banana seemed like a wonderful option. I was so right. I wish you could have smelled my home when the muffins were in the oven…heavenly!

The recipe ended up being pretty interesting. It had a little sugar and butter, but then the batter was moistened with unsweetened applesauce, light sour cream, and mashed bananas. The final touch of nutella completed this muffin and I was counting down the minutes until I could try one out. I was definitely not disappointed!
