About a month ago I was going to a party at my friend Kara’s house, and I had to find a dish to go along with the party theme. My friends and I are big football fans, and Kara’s party was to kick off our football season with the SEC. So I needed to find a dish to represent one of the schools, and I came across a dip called “Mississippi Sin Dip.”
I’m unsure what about this dip is Mississippi-related, but it became “Ole Miss Sin Dip” that night, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I figured it was only right that I share this recipe with all of you because it is sinfully good!
The best way I can describe the dip is that it’s like a light (aka fluffy) ham and cheese dip. Serve it with some tortilla chips or Fritos and you’ll have a hard time staying out of it. And without a doubt, this dip is even better re-heated the next day. You could always bake it the day before and then re-heat it in the oven the day you need it. Yum!!
I always love fast and easy recipes. All you do is combine all of the ingredients in a mixer until everything is mixed evenly. Then pour it into a greased, oven-safe dish and bake it at 350 for about an hour or until it’s bubbly and cooked through. You’ll need sour cream, cream cheese, shredded cheddar (I used sharp), one green onion, diced ham, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt and pepper. Super simple to make with ingredients you mostly have on hand already (or at least I do).
I had a very hard time staying out of it straight out of the oven, but it’s pretty delicious at any temperature. This week when I made it, I brought it up to my parents’ house and it was a big hit there as well.
Bake up this dip ASAP for your favorite football games and just relax with your friends and enjoy. Click here for the recipe and step by step instructions.
What I was cooking up a year ago: Ah, Nutella…Part 2
Because I have grown to love Nutella over the years (it’s a chocolate hazelnut spread, in case you aren’t familiar…hint, make yourself familiar!), I was excited to try a new recipe that included this delightful spread. Baking is one of my favorite things, and this banana Nutella muffin recipe was simply delicious. Plus it doesn’t have a lot of sugar or butter, so you can feel less guilty about indulging. Hope you enjoy!!
